Clemit "Crip" W. Hendricks

Clemit W. “Crip” Hendricks, 86, of Hamshire, died Saturday, September 29, 2012. He was born on May 13, 1926, in Brownfield, to Dovey Van Cleave Hendricks and Mark Sanderson Hendricks, and had been a resident of the Hamshire area since 1963. Mr. Hendricks was a United States Navy veteran, having served in World War II and was a retired refinery operator working many years in the petroleum industry. “Crip” was a longtime member of Winnie-Stowell Masonic Lodge #1377 A.F. & A.M., who enjoyed square dancing and bingo, and could fix just about anything. He will always be remembered as a fair man, who was willing to help anyone in need. Survivors include his wife of twenty-two years, Anna Hendricks; daughters, Debra Dale of Hamshire; and Lisa Billiot and her husband, Tracy, of Sulphur, Louisiana; son, Mark Hendricks of Richmond; grandchildren, Lance Dale, Bambi McGinn and her husband, Will; Marla Gilmore and her husband, David; Kaitlin Billiot and Dalton Billiot; great-grandchildren, Dawson Gilmore and Logan McGinn; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother of his children, Maxine Hendricks; and sister, Margaret Davis. A gathering of Mr. Hendricks’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 1, 2012, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
