Margaret Rita Bevilacqua Bonura, age 92, of Beaumont, Texas passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012. “To one who bears the sweetest name And adds a luster to the same Who shares our joys Who cheers when sad The greatest friend we ever had Long life to her for there’s no other Can take the place of our Dear Mother” She never regretted the many sacrifices and hardships she endured for her children. Mom was passionate about her faith in God and daily prayed for the well being of her family and friends. She was a devoted Catholic Christian, who was affectionately addressed by her nickname “Maggie”. She is survived by her sons, Mike Bonura and his wife, JoAnne; and Gerard Bonura, all of Beaumont; and Lawrence W. Bonura, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Sour Lake; granddaughter, Mandy Kay Gerber and her husband, Kory, of Sour Lake; grandsons, Lawrence William Bonura III and his wife, Crystal, of Sour Lake; and Joshua Michael Bonura and Jacob Anthony Bonura, both of Beaumont; four great-grandchildren, Hagen and Maggie Gerber, and Logan and Karsen Bonura; sister, Connie Citrano of Beaumont; brother, Sam Bevilacqua and his wife, Pat, of Beaumont; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence W. Bonura; granddaughter, Alicia Christine Bonura; parents, Salvatore Bevilacqua and Antonina Messina Bevilacqua; brothers, Joe Bevilacqua, Charlie Bevilacqua and Vincent Bevilacqua; and sister, Camile Jennie Bevilacqua. A gathering of Mrs. Bonura's family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 4445 Avenue A, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 4445 Avenue A, Beaumont, Texas 77705. The family sincerely thanks Dr. Daniel J, Harmon and recently, Dr. Jeremy Huff and their staff, as well as Harbor Hospice for the care given to Mom. We also thank her brothers and sisters for their help through the years.
