After a courageous battle with breast cancer, Juanita G. Munoz, 78, of Beaumont, died Friday, September 21, 2012, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born on January 23, 1934, in Caplen, Texas, to Juanita Chavez Gonzalez and Jose Gonzalez, and had been a lifelong resident of the area.

Juanita was retired from Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, where she worked for over twenty-five years, and was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church.

She is survived by her sons, Charles Perez and his wife, Liz; Victor Perez; and Arthur Perez and his wife, Melissa, all of Beaumont; and William Munoz of The Woodlands; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Julian Gonzalez and Alfred Gonzalez; and sisters, Delphina Espinoza and Carmen Tijerina. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dionicio Munoz; and brothers, Jose Gonzalez and Lewis Gonzalez.

A Rosary for Mrs. Munoz will be recited at 5:00 p.m., with a gathering of her family and friends to follow, Sunday, September 23, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m., Monday, September 24, 2012, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
