Eunice S. Edgar, 98, of High Island, died Saturday, September 15, 2012, at The Arboretum, Winnie. Born February 16, 1914, in High Island, she was the daughter of Mable Barrow Sullivan and Casey Sullivan, and had been a longtime resident of the area. Mrs. Edgar was a retired postal clerk for the United States Postal Service, and a longtime member of Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include her sisters, Mildred Bland, of High Island; Tincie Grammier of Fannett; and Beanus Shahan of Logansport, Louisiana; grandchildren, Bambi Edgar-Mota and her husband, Johan; Anthony Edgar; and Candee Edgar; great-grandsons, Simon Matosyan and Gavin Swope; and special friends, Sally Merchant, Wanda Gilbert, and Jerry Harrington. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of fifty-nine years, Fred E. Edgar; son, Wayne E. Edgar; and brothers, Sidney Sullivan, Douglas Sullivan, Robert Lewis Sullivan, and Henry Lee Sullivan. A gathering of Mrs. Edgar’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 17, 2012, at Broussard’s, Winnie, with interment to follow at High Island Cemetery, High Island.
