Mary Lou Franke Hickman 
March 6, 1923 - September 9, 2012

Mary Lou Franke Hickman, 89, of Nederland, died Sunday, September 9, 2012.  Born March 6, 1923, in Nederland, she was the daughter of Faye Dorothy Spurlock Franke and Oscar Wheeler Franke.  Mrs. Hickman was a sales person with Stanley Home Products.   She was a skilled seamstress, and enjoyed gardening, crocheting and knitting. 

 

She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Kathryn Peek and her husband, Howard, of Houston; sons, William D. Hickman, Jr. and his wife, Barbara of Reston, Virginia; Arthur Hickman and his wife, Colleen, and Randal Hickman and his wife, Paula, all of Nederland; brother, Robert Franke and his wife, Sue, of Nederland; grandchildren, Andrea Armstrong, Angela Peek, Alyssa Ferrara, Isaac Hickman, Todd Hickman, Brent Hickman, Alyson Ferguson, and Amanda Thompson;  seventeen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William Dale Hickman, Sr.

 

A gathering of Mrs. Hickman’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, September 12, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.  Her graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
