Raymond Thomas Elmer, 85, of Saratoga, died Saturday, September 1, 2012. He was born on November 30, 1926, to L.V. Brown Elmer and Thomas Jackson Elmer, in Batson. Raymond lived in Kountze many years before moving to Saratoga.

Survivors include his children, Elton Elmer; Crystal Ann Caraway and her husband, George, all of Kountze; Michael Elmer of Silsbee; Ramona Lynn Ogden and her husband, Donny of Woodville; Aleta Flowers and her husband, Clemon Lee; Carl Elmer, all of Beaumont; James Flowers and his wife, Karen of Saratoga; Richard Lynn Flowers and his wife, Bobbie; and Betty Flowers, wife of the late Melvin Flowers, all of Hull; brothers, Arthur Lee Elmer and his wife, Katie of Abbeville, Louisiana; and Henderson Allen Elmer and his wife, Sneed, of Kountze; sister, Lerah Collins and her husband, Leon, of Kountze; thirty grandchildren; fifty-five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by both parents; wife, Ruby Tanner Elmer; brothers, Vernon and Levere Elmer; stepson, Melvin Flowers; and granddaughter, Ruby Katherine Flowers.

A gathering of Mr. Elmer’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 3, 2012, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, in Kountze.
