Grady "Bubba" L. Price
December 14, 1935 - August 29, 2012 |
Grady “Bubba” L. Price, Sr., 76, of Nederland, passed away peacefully in his home Wednesday, August 29, 2012. He was born December 14, 1935, to Beulah and Roy Price, in Walters, Louisiana, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Grady was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He drove trucks for thirty years and after retiring, found a hobby in wood working. Grady enjoyed making furniture for the home that he and Lynn shared and also things for his grandchildren, when they were small. They will always have these things and the wonderful memories he has left them. Grady was a special type of person that you don’t find very often. He never knew how to say no, if someone needed something. He and Lynn were together for thirty-nine years and their thirty-eighth wedding anniversary would have been on September 27 of this year. His love for his family and friends was one that comes once in a lifetime. Grady’s smile could light up the world. People knew his friendship to be one that never ends. He will be watching his family from above and they can rest assured that he will take good care of them. Grady will sadly be missed by all, but we know that the pain he went through from his stroke gave him the trip to heaven to be with his family above. It is the only thing that can make us glad to see him over his struggle here on earth. Grady was a beautiful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Price of Nederland; son, Grady Price, Jr. of Lumberton; stepson, Robert Shriver of Baltimore, Maryland; sisters, Carol Ainsworth and her husband, Jerry, of Houston and Geraldene Clark and her husband, Wayne, of Olla, Louisiana; grandchildren, Crystal, Carrie, Jason, Alan, Jessica, Jessica Lynn, Lisa and Matthew; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Grady is preceded in death by his parents; son, Ralph Price; daughter, Darlene Price; and brothers, Hollis Price and Jim Price. A gathering of Mr. Price’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 3, 2012, at Taylor Chapel Cemetery, Summerville, Louisiana.
