Connie Kathleen Selman Mitchell, 62, died Thursday, August 23, 2012, as a result of a tragic automobile accident in Montgomery County. She was born on February 10, 1950, in Beaumont, to Eloise Harlan Selman and William W. Selman.  Connie grew up in Beaumont and graduated from Ray High School in Corpus Christi.

She spent many years as a legal secretary then pursued her interest of breeding and caring for animals, especially West Highland Terriers. 

Survivors include her husband, William P. Mitchell; sons, Clint Devaney, Kirk Devaney, and Kyle Devaney and his wife, Amy; grandchildren, Isaac Devaney, Rylee, Kaelyn, and Kason Devaney; sister, Susan McDaniel and her husband, Joe; brother, John Kirby Selman; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, William H. Selman.
