Earl Wayne Walters, 68, of Honey Island, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012.  A native and lifelong resident of Honey Island, he was born on August 29, 1943, to Bertie Lee Crosby Walters and Esker Walters. Earl was a United States Army veteran and assembly mechanic with Dresser-Ideco.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Walters; sons, Randy Walters and his wife, Gwynn, of Honey Island; Jeffery Walters and his wife, Terri, of Groves; and Michael Walters and his wife, Nayome, of Honey Island; sister, Vaudine Daniels and her husband, Bobby, of Kountze; brothers, M.L. Walters and his wife, Adel, of Yellow Pine; and James Darrel Walters and his wife, Ruth, of Leesville, Louisiana; fourteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren with two more expected within the next few months.

A gathering of Mr. Walters’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 24, 2012, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Jordan Cemetery, Honey Island.
