Edwin C. Anderson, 83, of Nederland, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Cypress Glen, Port Arthur. He was born on April 19, 1929, in Beaumont, to Sophie Struckmeir and William A. Anderson, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Edwin was a United States Navy veteran having served in the Korean War. Before his retirement, he was employed as a Chemist with Texaco for many years.

Edwin enjoyed playing golf, doing yard work, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was compassionate, dependable, a calming spirit, and had a great sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Sue Anderson; children, Mark Edwin Anderson and his wife, Kathy, of Dallas; and Craig Allen Anderson and his wife, Sandra, of Humble; grandchildren, Jonathan Anderson, Alyssa Burge, Jordan Anderson, Morgan Anderson, and Nicholas Anderson; great-grandchild, Kelcey Burge; and sister-in-law, Barbara Anderson of Waco.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, David Anderson; and brother, Reverend William Anderson.
