Ginger Colleen Gay, 41, of Beaumont, died Thursday, August 16, 2012, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was born on January 7, 1971, to Carol Ann Gibson Gay and David Gay. Ginger was a correctional officer with the Stiles Unit.

Ginger is survived by her father, David Gay and his wife, Sandie, of Lake Livingston; sister, Stacy Durham and her husband, Alan, of Magnolia; niece, Danielle Durham; and nephew, David Durham, both of Magnolia; grandmother, Mary Gay of Clarksville; and aunt, Diane Abbott.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Carol Gibson Gay; and grandfather, Edgar Ray Gay.

A gathering of Ginger’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., August 17, 2012, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Broussard’s, with her committal to follow at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
