Alice Chesnutt Lowe 
November 29, 1932 - August 3, 2012

Alice Chesnutt Lowe, 79, of Beaumont, died on Friday, August 3, 2012. She was born on November 29, 1932, in Pineland, to Bertie Mae McClelland Chesnutt and Henry Chesnutt.

 

She was a graduate of Jasper High School and had been a resident of the area for most of her life. Alice married the love of her life, James Troy Lowe, on September 18, 1948, at New Life Tabernacle and was married for over fifty-eight years. She was a member of The Anchor of Beaumont, formerly New Life Tabernacle, and attended Wesley United Methodist Church as a guest for two years. Alice was a full time mother and administrative manager of James Lowe Construction.

 

Survivors include her children, Thomas Lowe and his wife, Janelle, of Beaumont; Donna Lowe Groce and her husband, Hank, of Houston; and Jerry Lowe and his wife, Tabitha, of Lumberton; grandchildren, Tiffany Hiltpold, Sabrina Lowe, Kristopher Lowe, Brittany Bell, Amber Groce, Amber Lowe, Candice Groce, Jessica Lowe, Colton Lowe, Bryan Groce, Alie Lowe, Michael Henderson, Mason Henderson, and Gunner Lowe; great-grandchildren, Parker Bell, Kaydence Lummus, and Luke Hiltpold; and sister-in-law, Norma Chesnutt.

 

Alice is preceded in death by her loving husband, James Troy Lowe; two brothers, Cab Chesnutt and Bobby Chesnutt.

 

A gathering of Mrs. Lowe’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 6, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Broussard’s, officiated by Dee Phillips of The Anchor, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
