Jesse Lee Jones 
October 11, 1938 - August 2, 2012

Jesse Lee Jones, 73, of Nederland, died at his residence Thursday, August 2, 2012. He was born on October 11, 1938, in Beaumont, to Maggie Dunkin Jones and Jesse Randall Jones, and had been a longtime resident of Nederland.

 

Jesse attended Beaumont High School and later graduated from French High School in 1958. He was a United States Army veteran. Jesse was a self-employed cross country concessionaire for thirty years, and later was a contractor for Philpott transporting vehicles for fifteen years.

 

Jesse enjoyed tennis, and was a Lamar University fan. He has also been a longtime fan of NASCAR and the Dallas Cowboys.

 

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Jones; stepdaughter, Amanda Fant and her fiancé, Mike, of Port Arthur; stepsons, Doug Eldridge and his wife, Terri, of Nederland; and Bubba Eldridge and his fiancée, Ashley, of Ava, Missouri; eight step-grandchildren; several other stepchildren and step-grandchildren that live out of state; brother, Jim Milner of Beaumont; stepsister, Georgeann Nuchia of Lumberton; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Marie Jones and Louise Tribble, both of Beaumont; and his dog, “Sweetie” Jones.

 

Jesse is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leonard Jones; and sister, Helen Milner; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Milner.

 

A visitation of Mr. Jones’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 6, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Broussard’s, with Reverend Mark Humble, officiating.

 

His committal will be at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
