Lamar Hart, 68, of Nederland, died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas, Port Arthur. He was born March 27, 1944, to Robbie Ivey Hart and Hubert Hart in Grapeland. Lamar was retired, having formerly worked with Triple S Construction and also a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Nederland. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a very good cook. Lamar also was a fan of baseball and coached little league for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Penny Hart of Nederland; son, Matt Hart and his wife, Brandy, of Kountze; daughter, Jenny Holyfield and her husband, Clay, of Nederland; sister, Clara Ann Hart of Port Arthur; and grandchildren, Morgan Hart of Woodville, Caly Jo Holyfield, Cade Holyfield, and Cori Grace Holyfield, all of Nederland, and Kendra Hall and Login David, both of Kountze.  

Lamar is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Joe Henry Hart and Larry Hart.

A gathering of Mr. Hart’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
