Susan Harkrider Campbell
August 22, 1930 - July 26, 2012

Susan Harkrider Campbell, resident of Beaumont, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012.  Susan was a loving wife to Robert M. Campbell, Jr. for fifty-eight years.

Susan was ahead of her time, a pioneer; she was a graduate of The University of Texas College of Pharmacy.  Susan came to Beaumont to work as the pharmacist for Baptist Hospital in 1951.

Shortly after arriving in Beaumont, Susan met Robert “Bob” Campbell at First United Methodist Church Sunday School.  They wed in June of 1954.

Susan was well known for her gracious dedication to the Arts in Beaumont.  She volunteered at the Julie Rogers Theatre, Betty Greenberg Center for the Performing Arts, the Beaumont Symphony Association and was a Docent at the McFadden-Ward House.  She also volunteered her time to the many functions and organizations at her church, First United Methodist.

From the glaciers of Alaska to a riverboat ride down the Rhine and everything in-between ~ Susan and Bob were ardent travelers.

Susan is survived by her husband Bob; her two sons, Reid and Alan; her grandson, Robbie; and two great grandchildren, Prudence and Jude.

A gathering of Mrs. Campbell’s family and friends will be from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
