I. E. "Mac" McDaniel

I. E. “Mac” McDaniel, 83, of Wildwood, died Friday, July 20, 2012 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Mac was born March 20, 1929 in Noble, Missouri to Ruby Fletcher McDaniel and George Washington McDaniel. A resident of Wildwood, Mac had formerly resided in Port Arthur and was a retired electrician from DuPont Chemical Beaumont Works.

 

Mac and his wife loved square dancing. They took lessons at Hitch Hikers Square Dance Club in 1974. Then in 1981, became president of their district organization, the Golden Triangle Square and Round Dance Association. They went on to serve as president of the Texas State Federation of Square and Round Dancers in 1990-91. Mac was also a member of the Port Arthur Evening Lions Club and served as secretary-treasurer for several years.

                       

Mac is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Sandra; his son, David McDaniel of Port Arthur; his daughter, Kathleen Brent of Port Neches; grandchildren and great grandchildren; one niece and three nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Nowlin and Leona Essex; and brother, Euliss McDaniel.

 

Cremation arrangements for Mr. McDaniel are under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze. Cremation will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, 5150 Stivers Drive, Beaumont.  There will t be no public services held locally. A committal service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas.
