Paul Laurents, 65, of Sour Lake, died on Monday, July 16, 2012, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

He was born on December 6, 1946, in Beaumont, to Margaret Kimbral Laurents and Jules H. Laurents, Jr., and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Paul was a United States Navy veteran and he and his wife of thirty-one years, established L E R Air Conditioning Business in Sour Lake. Paul loved the outdoors, canoeing, hiking, computers, and music.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-one years, Sandra Laurents; daughter, Belinda Falk and her husband, Brian; and grandchildren, Taylor Iles and Brian Iles, all of Texas City; sister, Ann Oldham and her husband, Pat, of Beaumont; niece, Leslie Stuart and her husband, Grant, of Lumberton; mother-in-law, Lois Gregory of Sour Lake; sisters-in-law, Susan Gregory of Beaumont; Linda Lee and Rhonda Godeaux, both of Sour Lake; niece, Laina Godeaux of Jackson, Wyoming; nephew, Phil Ramirez and his wife, Kim; and grand nieces, Zoe and Trinity, all of Frisco; brother-in-law, Wayne Gregory and his wife, Miriam, of Dallas; niece, Sarah Gregory of Corvallis, Oregon; nephew, Cliff Gregory and his wife, Michelle, of Highland Village; and numerous other family members.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of Mr. Laurents’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Broussard’s. His committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium.
