October 10, 1948 - July 17, 2012 |
Robert “Buddy” Richey, 63, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born October 10, 1948, in Beaumont, to Violet Mellen Richey and Thomas G. Richey, Sr. Buddy was an instrumentation technician for Mobil Oil. Buddy loved to play the guitar and compose his own music. He was also known to show love and care to some we might consider “the least of these.” Survivors include his cousin, David Mellen of Beaumont; daughters, Leslie Pollard and her husband, Eric, of Conroe; Sheila Taylor and her husband, Jimmy, of Spring; and Jennifer Bodle and her husband, Marlin, of Crosby, Minnesota; grandchildren, Christian Pollard, Brandon Pollard, Zachary Taylor, Cody Taylor, Kayla Richey, and Kira Richey; sisters, Marilyn Mallary and her husband, Bill, and Chestine Box and her husband, Dan. Buddy is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Thomas Richey, Jr. The family would like to thank Jerry Kingsley for taking Buddy to his numerous cancer treatments in Houston. A friend such as this is a friend indeed. A committal for Mr. Richey was held at Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. |
