Pat Philyaw-Taylor, 64, of Nederland, died Friday, July 6, 2012. She was born on December 3, 1947, in Conroe, to Mary Parker Philyaw and James Philyaw, Jr. Pat was employed as an assistant manager with Holiday Inn on Jimmy Johnson, Port Arthur. She was a member of the Quilt Guild of Golden Triangle and will be remembered for her ability to create fantastic desserts. She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Taylor of Nederland; sister, Saundra Smith and her husband, George, of Nederland; aunt, Melba Mosby of Port Arthur; nieces, Stacey Richards and her husband, Paul, of Port Neches; and Geri Reid and her husband, Stephen, of Nederland; great-nephews, Bradley and Wil Richards, and Jack Reid; and great-nieces, Savannah Foreman, Jennifer Reid, and Tia Richards; and a host of additional relatives and friends. She will especially be missed by her four-legged companions, Bandit and Sassy. Pat is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Jimmy Philyaw. A graveside service for Mrs. Taylor will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2012, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, 101 Block Street, Port Neches, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
