Leonard Ray Brookshire, 54, of Lumberton, died Friday, July 6, 2012. He was born July 22, 1957, to Barbara Moss Brookshire and Jimmy Lee Brookshire, in Houston. He had been a resident of Lumberton since 1991 and was a police officer for the Beaumont Police Department for thirty-two years.

Survivors include his wife, Dyni Brookshire; children, Tawni Brookshire; Amber Lewis and her husband, Jeff, both of Lumberton; and Danny Brookshire of Beaumont; grandchildren; Brandt Lewis, Brinly Lewis, Boston Lewis, and Brenna Brookshire; mother, Barbara Brookshire of Houston; and sister, Brenda Sanders of Beaumont.

He is preceded in death by his father; and brother, Kenneth Brookshire.

A gathering of Mr. Brookshire’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, July, 9, 2012, at Calvary Baptist Church, 3650 Dowlen Road, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
