Rory Hanley, 53, of Port Neches, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 22, 1959, in Beaumont, to Faye Sterling Hanley and Hershel Hanley, and had been a lifelong resident of Nederland. Rory was employed as an operations supervisor with Valero refinery for twenty-nine years and was a member of First Baptist Church, Port Neches. Rory was loved by all those who knew him. He loved hunting, fishing, playing all sports, and most of all, spending time with his children. Survivors include his wife, Shawn Brantley Hanley; parents, Faye and Hershel Hanley; daughter, Kaitlin Hanley; and son, Kirby Hanley, all of Port Neches; brother, Reggie Hanley and his wife, Debbie, of Nederland; mother-in-law, Carol Brantley of Port Bolivar; sisters-in-law, Kym Mello of Lumberton and Dana Huff and her husband, Rex, of Nederland; nephews, Trent Hanley and his wife, Lindsey, of Nederland; Trey Hanley of Beaumont; Jaren Mello of China; Shelby Morris and his wife, Brittni, of Beaumont; Jesse Morris of Baytown; and Hunter Huff of Nederland; nieces, Amber Mello of Lumberton and Alaina Lastovica and her husband, Dane, of Houston. Along with two very special caregivers and friends, Belinda Breaux and her husband, Robert, of Fannett; and Linda Weeks of Beaumont. A gathering of Rory’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 9, 2012, at First Baptist Church, 1900 Magnolia Avenue, Port Neches, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
