Rose Lee Schwarzer Worden 
November 1, 1915 - July 4, 2012

Rose Lee Schwarzer Worden, 96, peacefully passed on July 4, 2012, at a healthcare center in Humble, Texas. She was born in Austin, on November 1, 1915, and lived most of her life in Beaumont, where she graduated from St. Anthony High School. She met Jesse Worden, her husband of fifty six years, at the Beaumont Enterprise and Journal, where they both worked.

 

She was a talented pianist and vocalist, was an excellent cook, loved gardening, nature, and her family. Friends, family, and caregivers often commented on her sharp mind, sense of humor, and "spunk." She will be greatly missed.

 

Rose was predeceased by her husband, Jesse; mother, Althea Wassenich Schwarzer; and father, Egon Schwarzer, who also worked at the newspaper and died when she was only twleve.

 

Survivors include her sisters, Janice French and Althea Bythewood; daughters, Rose Ann Jordan and her husband, Harrison; Alice Richardson; and Carol Hummer and her husband, Charles; grandchildren, David; Diane; Kathy and her husband, Chris; Vance; Jay; and Myles and his wife, Melissa; great-grandchildren, Allen and his wife, Silvia; Jimmy; Austin; Ethan; Matthew; and Amanda; great-great-grandchild, Nathan; nieces and nephews, Mary Ann and her husband, Hank; Cecile; Lynn and her husband, David; Elaine and her husband, Lloyd; John and his wife, Gail; Tommy and his wife, Dora, and Maureen, and all their families.

 

Also remembered with thanks are special friends, Bonnie and Bob; Susan and Pat; Rebecca and Dr. Valderama, Joan, Vanessa, and Mary.

 

Rose loved and enjoyed them all.

 

A gathering of Mrs. Worden’s family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
