John E. Jones, 65, of Silsbee, died Saturday, June 30, 2012. He was born on February 18, 1947, in Lufkin, to Ross Barrett and Edward Jones.  He was a United States Army veteran, having served in Vietnam. John worked as a railroad engineer for Santa Fe-Burlington Northern Santa Fe.

Survivors include his son, Perry C. Jones, of Beaumont; daughter, Shelley Jones and her husband, David, of Silsbee; grandchildren, Brant Jones, Madelyn Jones, Carley Jones, and Christian Jones; and sister, Sally Harris and her husband, Tommy, of Point Blank.

A gathering of Mr. Jones’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 2, 2012, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Hardin Memorial Park, Silsbee.
