Gerald Matthew “Matt” Dunaway, 60, of Silsbee died on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at his residence. Born on March 9, 1952, in Beaumont, to Marie Broussard Dunaway and Gerald Dunaway, he had lived in Silsbee for the last two years.

Gerald was a 1970 graduate of French High School in Beaumont. He was a board member of Silsbee Ice House Museum, a member of the Professional Engineering Association, and was a Civil Engineer with the United States Army Corps of Engineers of Galveston. 

Gerald is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Kathy Dunaway; mother, Marie Dunaway of Fannett; sister, Nancy Reed and her husband, Bob, of Buna; brother, Terry Dunaway of Fannett; sister-in-law, Lyn Slayter and her husband, Jim, of Beaumont; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Dunaway.

His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussards, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.

There will be a memorial service for Mr. Dunaway at a later date.
