Charles Griffin Stanley, 81, of Lumberton died Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.  He was born on September 30, 1930, to Geneva Long Stanley and Luther P. Stanley.  Charles proudly served in the United States Army and was a carpenter by trade.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Berniece Laverne Terry Stanley of Lumberton; son Dwain Stanley and his wife, Janis of Lumberton; grandson, Shenan Stanley and his wife, Sarah of Bryan; and great granddaughter, Serenity Olivia Stanley.  Charles is preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of Mr. Stanley’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2012, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  A private interment will be at Newton City Cemetery.
