Jesse J. Fontenot, 69, of Beaumont, died on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, after a battle with cancer. He was born on September 23, 1942, in Beaumont, to Rose Manuel Fontenot and Joseph Preston Fontenot.

Jesse was a United States Marine Corps veteran, with ten years of service which included two combat tours in Vietnam. After eighteen years, he retired from Day Zimmerman Security at Mobil Oil Refinery.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa Fontenot; daughter, Mary Parfait of Lumberton; sons, William Wright and his wife, Cathy, of San Antonio; Herman Wright and his wife, Audrey; and David Wright, all of Beaumont; fourteen grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; sisters, Jane Martin and her husband, Jim, of Woodville; and Doris Sullivan and her husband, Paul, of Houston; brother, Ronald Fontenot and his wife, Brenda, of China; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of Mr. Fontenot’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at China Cemetery, China.
