Bernadette M. Edwards, 60, of Vidor, died on Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on January 15, 1952, in Morristown, New Jersey, to Anna Angelina Seficek Mercuri and Frederick Paul Mercuri. Bernadette worked as a sales clerk with Dillard’s for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Mickey Edwards; daughter, Kristen Morrison and her husband, Robert, of San Antonio; son, Jerry Robertson, Jr. and his wife, Stacey, of San Antonio; brothers, Eugene Mercuri of Lakewood, Colorado, and Raymond Mercuri and Richard Mercuri, both of Rockaway, New Jersey; sisters, Barbara Lockman and Patricia Lusardi, both of Rockaway, New Jersey, and Adrienne Davis of Lewisville; and grandchildren, Jerry Robertson III, Joel Robertson, and Emma Robertson.

She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Nicholas Mercuri.

A gathering of Mrs. Edwards’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1600 North Main Street, Vidor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2012, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, Vidor, under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze.
