Dr. Douglas N. Mattingly, Jr. 
October 24, 1933 - June 1, 2012

Dr. Douglas N. Mattingly, Jr., 78, of Woodville, died Friday, June 1, 2012.  A native and longtime resident of Beaumont, he was born on October 24, 1933, to Enna Vae Folkland Mattingly and Douglas Nicholas Mattingly, Sr.

 

Doug was a retired dentist, having practiced in Beaumont for over thirty-eight years, and was a member of the Sabine Dental Society.  He was a member of the National Greyhound Racing Association and loved fishing, hunting, and the outdoors.

 

Survivors include his wife, Linda Mattingly; step-daughter, Belinda Jeffcoat of San Antonio; brother, Martin L. Mattingly and his wife, Gail of Burleson; nephew, Scott Mattingly and his wife, Cissy; nieces, Heather Clark and Leslie Palmer and her husband, William; and great-niece, Grayson Palmer.

 

A gathering of Dr. Mattingly’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m., Monday, June 4, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
