Leona Domel Hallmark 
July 2, 1918 - May 28, 2012

Leona Domel Hallmark, 93, of Beaumont, died May 28, 2012, at The Clairmont. She was born to Selma Kalmbach Domel and Adolph Domel, Sr., in Georgetown, on July 2, 1918. Leona retired from J.C. Penney’s as a manager in their cosmetic department.

She joined Bethlehem Lutheran Church on December 7, 1941, Pearl Harbor Day. Leona was a past president of Bethlehem ALCW and WELCA from 1961-1962 and 1994-1995. She was also involved in the Sewing Circle, secretary and treasurer of the DORCAS Circle, and church custodian. Leona taught Sunday school and assisted with confirmation classes for over twenty-five years. She volunteered at Some Other Place by preparing and serving meals, and she was involved in various other activities at church and in the community.

Survivors include her son, Dale Hallmark and his wife, Nathalie of Beaumont; sister, Elisabeth Marak of Georgetown; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Avard Boyce “Al” Hallmark; parents; sisters, Mary Schwertner, Minnie Herzog, Hulda Marberger, Selma Noack, Martha Domel, and Alice Holderrieth; and brothers, A.G., Adolph, Jr., Robert, Bert, Georg, and Norbert Domel.

A gathering of Mrs. Hallmark’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2012, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 777 North 4th Street, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Allen Noack, Richard Nemec, Ronald Nemec, Gregory Nemec, John McShan, and Hal Doerre. Honorary pallbearers will be J.T. Beckman, Earl Gilmore, Lonnie Champagne, and Darrel Champagne.
