Steve Barclay, 58, of Lake Jackson, Texas, died on Monday, May 28, 2012. He was born July 1, 1953, in Port Arthur, to Louise Fowler and Harold James Barclay. 

Steve enjoyed fishing, and spending time in his garage and also with friends and family. He was loving, genuine, a hardworker, and strong; a true friend and a man of his word.

Steve is survived by his mother, Louise Fowler Barclay of Nederland; children, Christopher Barclay and his wife, Terra of Lake Jackson and Stephen Barclay and his wife, Naomi of Houston; his loving partner, Lori Smith of Lake Jackson; grandchildren, Carson Fowler Barclay and Chloe King; brothers, Charles Barclay and his wife, Claudette of Brazoria; Byron Barclay of Nederland; Mike Barclay and his wife, Kay of Bridge City; Rick Barclay and his wife, Beth of Baytown; and Jerry Barclay and his wife, Patti of Beaumont; sisters, Sandra Hixson and her husband, Jesse of Chicago, Illinois; Linda Spaugh and her husband, Gene of Portland, Oregon; Mary Griffin; and Kathy Sturrock and her husband, Tommy, all of Nederland; Charlotte Spencer and her husband, Tim of Pensacola, Florida; best friend/brother, Mickey Hust and his wife, LaDonna and their children, Matthew and Marty Hust all of Lake Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mireille Barclay; brother, Ron Barclay; and father, James Harold Barclay.

A gathering of Mr. Barclay’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
