Leon S. Shaw 
December 21, 1932 - May 26, 2012

Leon S. Shaw, 79, of Winnie, died Saturday, May 26, 2012. He was born on December 21, 1932, in Port Arthur, to Evelyn Guidry Shaw and Granville Justin Shaw, and had been a resident of Winnie since 1961.

 

Leon was a United States Army veteran, having served in the Korean War, and was a retired field foreman from Sabine Gas.

 

Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Helen Shaw; sons, Darrel Shaw and his wife, Cathy of Sublette, Kansas and Stuart Shaw and his wife, Cheryl of Winnie; daughters, Karen Luke and her husband, George of Lumberton; Sheila Baker and her husband, Jimmy of Winnie; and Dorothy Zullo and her husband, Kenny of Houston; grandchildren, Lesley Husband and her husband, Shannon, Jimmy Baker III and his wife, Melissa, Kristy Baker, Sydney Shaw, Blake Shaw, Windie Searcy and her husband, Jamie, and Courtney Bennett and her husband, Josh; great-grandchildren, Tony Baker, Nichole Shaw, Damian Shaw, Kinzie Searcy, and Jacy Bennett; and sister, Melba Jane Permenter of High Island.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, A. J. Shaw; and grandsons, Brandon Shaw and Jared Shaw.

 

A gathering of Mr. Shaw’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer, Winnie. His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
