Lessie Brown, 94, of Kountze, died Thursday, May 24, 2012. She was born March 19, 1918, in Etoile, Texas to Sarah Kirkendall Sims and James Sims.

Survivors include her husband of seventy-three years, James Tegart Brown; sons, James Tegart Brown, Jr. and his wife, Peggy of Silsbee; Robert Garth Brown and his wife, Jerrie of Kountze; and John Curtis Brown of Kountze; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, J.L. Sims and Jesse Sims; and grandson, Curtis Brown.

A gathering of Mrs. Brown’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Sour Lake.
