Ruth Mae Malveaux

Ruth Mae Malveaux, 61, of Winnie, died Monday, May 21, 2012, at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston. Born on June 22, 1950, in Lafayette, Louisiana, Gladys Dean Williams and Alfred Williams, she had lived in the Winnie area for nine years. Ruth enjoyed many different things, but especially home decorating, sewing, attending garage sales, shopping and working in her flower garden. Her greatest joy was being with her family and friends. James met Ruth when she was sixteen and she has been the love of his life ever since. He just planted her favorite flower, a red rose bush, which is currently in full bloom. She taught kindergarten and second grade at Blanchette Elementary in Beaumont for nine years. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of forty-one and a half years, James Malveaux, Sr.; son James Malveaux, Jr., and his wife, Christina of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter, Joy Malveaux of Houston; brothers, Alton Pickney and his wife, Beverly of Houston; Ted Williams and his wife, Freeda of Dallas; Ronald Williams of Opelousas, Louisiana; and Ronnie Williams and his wife, Phyllis of Houston; sister, Louella Anderson and her husband, Andy of Schertz; and numerous relatives and friends. . A gathering of Mrs. Malveaux’s family and friends will be from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2012, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, with interment to follow at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston.
