Valry Brown, 83, of Beaumont, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2012, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont.  A native and resident of the Beaumont area since 1951, he was born on August 25, 1929, to Valry and Luda Whittington Brown.

Valry graduated from Texas A&M University at College Station, Class of 1950; was a proud member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band; and an active member of the Beaumont A&M Club. He was active in real estate for many years and owned and operated a Century 21 Real Estate office.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Brown; children, David Brown and his wife, Brenda; Dan Brown and his wife, Bonnie; and Deanna Gearinger and her husband, Shawn; (deleted and) stepdaughter, Laura Conn and her husband, David; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Jo Penick.

He is preceded in death by his son, Donald Brown; and sister, Velma Lois Rogers.

A gathering of Mr. Brown’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Broussard’s, with his graveside service to follow at 12:30 p.m., at Whittington Cemetery, Devers.
