Johnnie Lee Hargraves, 79, of Toledo Village, formerly of Winnie, died Monday, May 14, 2012, at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston.

He was born August 24, 1932, in Winnie, to Agnes Kane Hargraves and Gilbert Hargraves and had been a lifelong resident of the Winnie area. Johnnie was a United States Army veteran and a retired process supervisor for Union Texas Petroleum. He and his wife, Elaine were former owners of Radio Shack in Winnie. Johnnie enjoyed fishing and doing things with his family. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Elaine Hargraves; sons, B. J. Hargraves and his wife, Callie of Hankamer, Lee Hargraves and his wife, Linda of Sterling, Massachusetts, and Lyndon Hargraves and his wife, Paula of Huntsville; daughters, Kandy McBride and her husband, Wayne of Winnie and Tammy Patterson and her husband, Donnie of Frisco; grandchildren, Beth Hargraves, Lesley Hernandez, Eric Hargraves, Emma Hargraves, Krystal Hargraves, Jessica Hargraves, Brandon McBride, Kade McBride, and Tasha Patterson; great-grandchildren, Emily Hernandez, Logan Hernandez, Makayla Hargraves, Mason McBride, Maddyn McBride, Nicole Patterson, and Dawson Patterson; and numerous other family members and friends.

A gathering of Mr. Hargraves’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2012, at First United Methodist Church of Winnie/Stowell, 1708 State Hwy 124, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
