Burl Gaylon Chance 
September 5, 1950 - May 13, 2012

Burl Gaylon Chance, 61, of Fred died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

 

He had lived in the area for sixty years and had worked for Phillips Services as V.P. of Quality Assurance and Inspection. 

 

Burl is survived by his wife, Juanita Chance; daughters, Casondra M. Chance Simon and her husband, Stephen of Evadale and Elva Montes and her husband, Rene of Pahrump, Nevada; grandchildren, Mason Simon, Chance Simon, Matthew Simon, Jacob Montes, Jorden Montes, Jessica Montes, Juaquoin Montes, Julissa Montes, and Julianna Montes; sisters, Daline Eason of Silsbee and Mary Teague and her husband, Doug of Randelette, Oklahoma; brothers, Freddie Dale Chance and his wife, Gloria of Fred and Lonnie Chance and his wife, Sandy of Silsbee; father-in-law, Leslie G. Hooks, Sr and his wife, Hazel of Jasper; brothers and sisters-in-law, Buford Edward Curtis II and his wife, Mary and Robert Milligan and his wife, Deborah all of Silsbee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, James Dalon and Lula Belle Chance; brother, James Alfred Chance; and mother-in-law, Verna Mae Hooks.

 

A gathering of Burl’s family and friends will be Wednesday, May 16, 2012, 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Broussard’s with burial to follow at Fred Community Cemetery, CR 4700, in Fred.
