Royley Moses McGee, 79, of Hemphill, died Thursday, May 10, 2012. He was born March 11, 1933, in Mamou, Louisiana, to Gladys Reed McGee and Abel McGee and had been a resident of the Beaumont area since 1960. Royley was a United States Army veteran having served in the Korean War, and he was a retired grain inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture. Survivors include his wife of twenty-eight years, Thelma Jean McGee; sons, Randell McGee and his wife, Joy of La Porte and Arthur McGee and his wife, Laurie of Mauriceville; daughter, DeDe Hebert and her husband, Thad of Austin; step-children, Trey Parker and his wife, Shaun Lyn of Beaumont, Donna Jean Kelly of Fairmont and Michelle Parker of Friarson, Louisiana; brother, Rodney McGee of Abbeville, Louisiana; twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; and step-daughter, Lisa Carol Baker. A gathering of Mr. McGee’s family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 14, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at China Cemetery, Benoit Avenue, China.
