Royley Moses McGee 
March 11, 1933 - May 10, 2012

Royley Moses McGee, 79, of Hemphill, died Thursday, May 10, 2012. He was born March 11, 1933, in Mamou, Louisiana, to Gladys Reed McGee and Abel McGee and had been a resident of the Beaumont area since 1960.

 

Royley was a United States Army veteran having served in the Korean War, and he was a retired grain inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture.

 

Survivors include his wife of twenty-eight years, Thelma Jean McGee; sons, Randell McGee and his wife, Joy of La Porte and Arthur McGee and his wife, Laurie of Mauriceville; daughter, DeDe Hebert and her husband, Thad of Austin; step-children, Trey Parker and his wife, Shaun Lyn of Beaumont, Donna Jean Kelly of Fairmont and Michelle Parker of Friarson, Louisiana; brother, Rodney McGee of Abbeville, Louisiana; twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; and step-daughter, Lisa Carol Baker.

 

A gathering of Mr. McGee’s family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 14, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at China Cemetery, Benoit Avenue, China.
