Ouida B. Champagne Bergeron, 94, of Port Arthur, departed this Earth May 5, 2012, at Gulf Healthcare Facility, Port Arthur.  Born June 22, 1917, to Lorena and Norbert Bonvillion, she was a native of Abbeville, Louisiana, and a long-time resident of Port Arthur. 

Ouida is survived by Lorraine Pepper and her husband, Richard of Jeanerette, Louisiana, Fadra Thibeaux of Port Neches, Gabriel Champagne of Phoenix, Arizona, Cathy Holmes and her husband, Wendell of Port Neches, Russell Champagne of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Daniel Champagne of Port Arthur; twenty grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Zulamae Bonvillion Henry of Abbeville, Louisiana.  Her family was a big family who loved Ouida dearly.

She is preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters.

A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2012, with a remembrance service beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A graveside service will be held for Ouida at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Graceland Cemetery, 1300 Veterans Memorial Drive, Abbeville, Louisiana 70510.
