James "Paw D" Ollice Dore

James Ollice “Paw D” Dore, 67, of Nederland died May 3, 2012. Born December 24, 1944 in Port Arthur, and lifelong resident of the area, James was the son of Ida Lorraine Harris Bottiger and Ollice Dore. A United States Army Veteran, having served during the Vietnam Conflict, he formerly was a welder and first class ship fitter with Burton’s Shipyard, Coastal Marine and Gulf Copper. Paw “D” did everything with his grandson, from baking cakes to practicing and attending his games. He worked with children’s baseball and enjoyed hunting and was an avid woodsman. He is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Barbara Yancey Dore of Nederland; children, Crystal M. Dore of Arkansas, James W. “Jay” Dore of Nederland and Phillip Dore of Wichita, Kansas; father-in-law, Joe C. Yancey of Port Neches; grandson, James “Hunter” Dore of Groves; and brothers, Richard Bottiger of Utah and Wayne Bottiger of Korea. James was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Mrs. A. C. Riley; and mother-in-law, Hazel Clark Yancey. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2012 at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday afternoon, May 6, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
