Howard Martin, 68, of Beaumont, died Friday, April 27, 2012, at Christus Hospital, St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, Howard was retired from automotive sales.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Tinsley Martin; step-daughters, Kelly Johnson and her family of Lumberton and Karisa Tinsley of Beaumont; sons, David Van Doyle of Starks, Louisiana and Howard Van Martin III of Clearlake; his four legged daughters, Tessa and Tinny; grandchildren, Kandace and Courtney Johnson, Maddie and Adam Doyle and Nicolas Martin; sister, Doris Martin Whiteside, and her three sons of Vidor; brother, Cullen White; and numerous cousins and extended family members.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Dell Wingate Martin; father, Howard Van Martin, Sr.; grandmother, Bessie Martin; sisters, Lillian Haynes and Angie Mae Johnson.

A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, Vidor.
