Joyce Marie Dryden, 79, of Votaw, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012.  A native and lifelong resident of Votaw, she was born December 6, 1932, to Frances Elizabeth (Jordan) and James R. Sumrall, and was a homemaker and longtime member of Votaw Worship Center.

Survivors include her children, Brenda Hope and her husband, Paul of Liberty and Tim Dryden and his wife, Cheryl of Votaw; grandchildren, Mary Johnson of Orange, Nicole Gray of Liberty, Eric Dryden and his wife, Kate of Spring, Jana Vanya and her husband, Cole of Cypress, and Jordan Letsinger and her husband, Brandon of Sour Lake; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Wilma Jackson of Votaw and Betty Flanigan of Vidor; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Marvin Dryden.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2012, at Votaw Worship Center, 3160 FM 2798, Votaw with burial to follow at Votaw Cemetery, under the direction of Broussard’s in Kountze. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 26, 2012, at the church.
