Conway L. “Slim” Wilson, 86, died Saturday, April 21, 2012, in Houston. Slim is a native of Beaumont and was a retired aerospace engineer from NASA. He also proudly severed his country in the United States Army during World War II. He is survived by daughters, Connie Wilson of Port Arthur, Leslie Wood and her husband, Mike of Silsbee and Karen Wilson Eshliman of Austin; son, James Wilson and his wife, Twyla of The Woodlands; grandchildren, Elizabeth Choate and her husband, Jeremy of Austin, Patrick Wood and his wife, Stacy of Silsbee, Holly Eshliman of Austin, James Wilson, Jr. of The Woodlands, and Shelby Elizabeth Wilson of The Woodlands; brothers, William Marvin Wilson, Jr. and his wife, Jo Ann of Lumberton, Elray Wilson and his wife, Jody of Kerrville; and sister, Wanda Ryals of Waco. Slim is preceded in death by his wife, Sara Wright Wilson; parents, William and Dula Wilson; and sister, Novis Erickson. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at China Cemetery, China, Texas, under the direction of Broussard’s, , Beaumont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 755 S. 11th Street, Beaumont, Texas 77701; or St. Jude’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
