Tommie Penry 
June 2, 1948 - April 22, 2012

Tommie Penry, 63, of Labelle, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at his home.  He was a native of Jefferson County, and resided in Labelle for 30 years.  He worked in the security and transportation fields for over twenty years.  Tommie was the type of person to help you in any way possible.  He cherished his life, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survived by his wife of forty-five years, Pamela Ortego Penry of Labelle; sister, Mae Isbell of Beaumont; brothers, James Penry and his wife, Norma of Port Neches, Jerry Penry and his wife, Elaine of Silsbee, and Ed Penry of Deerpark;  son, Walter “Wally” Penry and his wife, Aarin of Lumberton and daughter D’Anna Penry and Toby Hooks of Krotz Springs, Louisiana; and grandchildren, Kadence Penry, Kamie Bertrand, Kyndal Chatagnier, Christian Chatagnier, and Ali Hooks; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Tommie was preceded in death by his parents, Illie Lee Penry and Maggie Mae Tullos Penry of Beaumont; as well as two sisters, Geneva Watson and Bobbie Boykin; and five brothers, Charles Penry, Howard Penry, John Penry, Tullos Penry and Wayne Penry.

His memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
