Millie Dowd, 92, of Beaumont, went to be with her Savior Wednesday, April 18, 2012.  Born December 12, 1919, in Fayette, Alabama to Denna Caples Jenkins and Will Jenkins, she was a resident of Texas for the last fourteen years. No matter where she was, Millie was a witness for her Lord every day.

Millie is survived by her daughters, Katie Lindsey and her husband, Bob of Beaumont and Delight Daniels of Sour Lake; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, Gail Baker and Joan Barnes, both of Fayette, Alabama.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnnie Lee Dowd; five children; two brothers; and two sisters.

A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 12:00 Noon, with her funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
