Mary Lockard, 84, of Beaumont, died Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont.  Born October 10, 1927, in Port Arthur to Margaret Maize Wright Sydow and Benjamin Franklin Sydow, she was a lifelong resident of the area. 

Mary is survived by her husband, Alfred Lockard of Beaumont; sons, John Charles Lockard and his wife, Lucy of Beaumont and Bobby Joe Lockard and his wife, Tami of Sour Lake; grandchildren, Joni Lockard of Winnie, Emily Furry and her husband, Russ of Houston, Aaron Lockard and his wife, Tonia and Meagan Parker and her husband, Matt, all of Sour Lake; soon to be first great-grandchild, Kylie Marie Lockard; brother, Ben Sydow of Broaddus; sister, Eva Jacks of Lufkin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Joyce Allen Bryant.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
