Jack Conkle, 73, of Hillister, died Monday, April 9, 2012. He was born May 31, 1938, in Odell, Illinois, to Christine Alexander Conkle and Rollie Conkle, and had been a resident of the area all of his life. He was a retired welder from Local #195.

He enjoyed Fishing, hunting and country music.

Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Dianne Conkle of Hillister; sons, Ricky Conkle and his wife, Melanie of LaBelle, and Gerald Conkle and his wife, Vickie of Fannett; grandchildren, Ashley Conkle-Ward and her husband, Thomas, Kelly Conkle-Apshire and her husband, Timothy, Cody Conkle, and Matthew Conkle; great-granddaughter, Lizzy Apshire; sister, Marilyn Hammock of Brookeland, Marge Broyles of Doniphan, Missouri, and Ann Logsdon of Nederland.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Gary Conkle.

A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

A family committal will be at Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s.
