Thomas Dewitt “Tom” Mayfield, Jr., 66, of Kountze, died Friday, October 15, 2004 at his residence.

 He was a native of Slidell, Louisiana and long time resident of Kountze.  After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree, he was a Geological Engineer/ Area Manager for Schlumberger.  He was Mayor of Kountze, City Judge of Kountze, Hardin County Judge and owner of Mayfield’s Farm and Home Center.

 Survivors include his wife, Barbara Borel Mayfield; sons, LTC Dewitt Mayfield and his wife Suzann of Fort Hood, Texas and Crawford Mayfield and his wife Kellie of Katy, Texas; daughters, Kathleen Hill and her husband Bill of Washington, D.C. and Anna Jolly Burnett and her husband Phillip of Nashville, Tennessee and twelve grandchildren; stepchildren, Ginger LeBlanc and her husband Ray, Donna Weisenbaker and her husband Mike, Cheryl Barnett and her husband Richard, Jay Gregory Comeaux and his wife Carol and Steven Comeaux; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren;  sisters, Audrey Pearson and her husband Joe of Slidell, Louisiana and Susan Doll and her husband Robert of Sommerville, Tennessee.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Jolly Mayfield; father, Thomas Dewitt Mayfield, Sr. and mother, Audrey Crawford Mayfield.

 Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 18, 2004 at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee with burial to follow at Daniel Cemetery on Highway 418 in Kountze.  A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, October 17, 2004, from 4:00 until 8:00 at Broussard’s.
