Erna Mae Dugat, 92, of Kountze, died January 21, 2012, at Kountze Nursing Center surrounded by her loving family. Erna was born January 5, 1920, in Melder, Louisiana to Noah John and Ada Laneece (Lounsberry) Rhame. A resident of Sour Lake for seventy years, she moved to Kountze two years ago. She was a retired Dietary Supervisor for Milam Nursing Home in Beaumont where she worked for more than eighteen years.

She is survived by her son, H. P. “Peanut” Dugat and his wife, Sue of Hillister; son-in-law, Michael Petry and his wife, Kathryn of Bridge City; grandchildren, Darrell Dugat of Austin, Micah Petry and his wife, Greta of Bridge City, Derek Petry and his wife, Jill of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Katy Petry of Bridge City; great grandchildren, Colyn, Braden, Jenna, Regan and Quinton Petry; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, C. P. “Son” Dugat; her daughter, Janie Petry; seven brothers; and three sisters.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze, with burial to follow at 12:00 noon at Abshire Cemetery in Hankamer. A gathering of her family and friends will be Tuesday, January 24, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m,. at Broussard’s.
