Dorothy Mae Westmoreland, 84, of Saratoga died Thursday, January 19, 2012, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont.  She was born August 22, 1927, in Monroe, Louisiana to Olivia (Abbott) and William Kelly Robertson and lived most of her life in Saratoga.

Dorothy was a 1948 graduate of Hotel Dieu School of Nursing and began her nursing career as one of the first nurses employed at Baptist Hospital, Beaumont. She served in many positions at Baptist Hospital and retired in 1995 as director of surgery. Dorothy enjoyed her nursing years and for over forty-six years, Baptist Hospital became her second home. 

Survivors include her children, Donna Rae Gros and her husband, Geary of Saratoga, Cheryl Lynn Moore and her husband, Bobby of Hamshire, and Randy Westmoreland and his wife, Gale of Lumberton; brother, William Sidney Robertson of Dam B, six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donalee Westmoreland.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2012, at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2011, at Broussard’s.
