Christina Leigh “Christy” Dougherty, 29, of Lumberton, died Wednesday, November 30, 2011. She was born August 14, 1982, in Beaumont, to Cindy Lee Dougherty and Todd Dougherty, and had been a lifelong resident of the Beaumont area. Christy was a graduate of Lumberton High School and was a Labor and Delivery Nurse at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

Survivors include her parents, Cindy and Todd Dougherty of Lumberton; sister, Candace Barnard and her husband, Chris of Celeste; fiancé, Shaun Roberts of Beaumont, and his parents, Debbie and Jerry Roberts of Vidor; grandparents, Joan and Calvin Lee of Lumberton; aunts, Stephanie Mauffrey and her husband, Randy of San Antonio, and Kathy Albert and her husband, Phil of Kiln, Mississippi; uncles, Chuck Lee of Gulfport, Mississippi, and Jon Dougherty of Memphis, Tennessee; and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Phyllis Dougherty of Memphis, Tennessee, and Fran and Edward Dougherty of Freeport, Florida.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Village Mills Cemetery.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2011, at Broussard’s.
